Crab Stuffed Halibut Recipe

This crab stuffed halibut recipe should be served for any festive event.

Ingredients

1 ½ lbs halibut fillets
1 c. crab meat, drained and flaked – cartilage removed
1 Tbsp green pepper, finely chopped
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp ground dry mustard
3 saltine crackers, crushed
1 egg, separated into white and yolk
¼ c. melted butter
1 + 5 Tbsp mayonnaise
1 Tbsp parsley, dried
½ tsp paprika
ground white pepper

Preheat oven to 400ºF. Clean and rinse halibut, pat dry. Combine crab, green pepper, mustard powder, crushed saltines, Worcestershire, salt and white pepper. Mix well. Combine egg white and 1 tablespoon of mayo, stir this into crab meat mixture.

Brush fish skillets with butter. Place in greased baking dish. Spoon crab mixture over fish and drizzle with any remaining butter. Bake for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, beat egg yolk in a bowl, and stir in the last 5 tablespoons of mayo. Remove halibut from oven and spread this egg/mayo mixture over the crab stuffing. Sprinkle with parsley and paprika. Increase temperature in oven to 450ºF and bake until bubbly and golden, about 7-10 minutes.

We recommend serving this crab stuffed recipe with your favorite red wine.
